Tactical Adventures will also be releasing a free update to the game that increases the level cap to 12, more character personalization options, and several upgrades and new features to the Dungeon Maker tool. This new DLC features a new Half-Orc ancestry, two additional Barbarian and Druid classes, and an original two-hour “Wanderer” quest. Tactical Adventures celebrates the one-year anniversary of its tactical RPG Solasta: Crown of the Magister by announcing that the first DLC - Primal Calling - will be available on November 4, 2021. Players will be able to back Solasta: Crown of the Magister on Kickstarter and link arms with the developers, joining the Solasta community and being rewarded for doing so! Players will have the opportunity to get in on the adventure before it even starts when Tactical Adventures launches its Kickstarter campaign at the end of summer. Players must take advantage of each character’s strengths and weaknesses if they are to succeed. Solasta is a unique team-based adventure where each character plays a critical role in the campaign and can be a hero.

Utilize light as a tool to explore the depths and hollows of dungeons or use it as a weapon against the creatures of the dark. Position ranged characters on high vantage points or send your thief down into shafts and caverns to scope out what’s ahead. The dynamic and mysterious world of Solasta features brand new elements of verticality, allowing players to use their surroundings as an element of strategy. Players will journey through the mystical realms of Solasta, unraveling a story that spans multiple worlds. While PC-only, one would hope we’ll eventually see a console port, even though it’s kind of a niche game when all is said and done. The journey begins with creating a team of four explorers, selecting their race, class, background story, rolling for abilities and personal stats. You can (and should) pot a few bucks down on this if you’re a fan of what you see (and play). It’s certainly a load of steps above the sometimes wacky goings-on in the online-only Neverwinter in terms of accuracy is all I’ll say.Īnyway, I finally took a tiny plunge and supported the Kickstarter because it’s so close to being funded with about a week to go and that demo is fun stuff indeed.

The recent addition of official Wizards of the Coast-approved Dungeons and Dragons rules more than seals the deal for me even though the game was already looking and playing fine (a demo can be downloaded for PC users here). I’ve been silently following Solasta: Crown of the Magister for a while and this gorgeous looking turn-based and packed with nice lighting and physics tactical RPG has been so far, shaping up to be a fine entry in the genre. Prepare to think about monsters appearing at all angles and prepare to chuckle at the funny writing on display.
